Magical Thailand Tour
An Adventure That Changes You
Over an eight day motorcycle trip, you will go through the life-changing experiences Evan (Captain Sidd) had in this beautiful land and live the incredible lifestyle he built for himself here. All with the goal of helping you build the lifestyle of your dreams, anywhere in the world.
The Magical Thailand Tour is an experience money can’t buy - a journey through a foreign land that will get you out of your comfort zone and familiar with new ideas, perspectives and motivations. And it’s all going to be done with a small group of likeminded sovereign individuals led by local guides.
Our meticulous planning means you can expect a top-notch experience: from the nicest resorts and hotels Thailand has to offer to the most fresh local food on Earth that most tourists unwittingly pass by. Your ticket to this Ride of Passage includes rental of an adventure motorcycle and Cardo Bluetooth communicators to stay together with the group. Every small detail is cared for on this ride: from your luggage to the people you’ll meet.
Feel free to keep your phone away, because we’ll have a professional photographer and filmmaker with us to document your experiences. We’ll also have translators to help you interact with the locals and discover the mysteries held within these mountains.
Each participant in the Ride of Passage will be personally vetted to ensure high quality, lasting bonds in our small group of just eight riders. We even supply you with a packing list and travel guide to help you seamlessly arrive in Thailand and enjoy your journey.
Still, this is an experience most will refuse: their preconceived notions and fear of the unknown hold them back from the presence necessary to explore all this ride has to offer.
Will you take on the Ride of Passage?
Seven bitcoiners already conquered the Magical Thailand Tour in 2023. One quit his job and is now working in Bitcoin. One is now running his own motorcycle tours. And another is still traveling throughout Asia, living a lifestyle he’d previously only dreamed of.
This is the Ride of Passage.
A Glimpse of the Itinerary
As with any Ride of Passage, we don’t share detailed itineraries with riders prior to the ride. This is to protect the spontaneity of your experience and squash your fragile “need to know”. We guarantee you will see and experience parts of Thailand no other tour will show you.
We will ride the wild and beautiful roads of Northern Thailand on motorcycles – the perfect machines for this land.
We will learn the ancient art of the eight limbs: Muay Thai, or Thai boxing. You will be humbled by masters who defeat enemies twice their size.
We will indulge our taste buds with meals more fresh and nourishing than anything money can buy in the western world.
We will meet the most sovereign people on Earth, with resistance to the state running in their blood and culture.
We will spend time with Bitcoiners mining on solar in the hills and building Bitcoin education centers across Thailand.
We will discover untold histories lurking in the hills, and meet the people who lived through them.
And we will have a hell of a lot of fun doing it.
How do we know? We’ve done it before. Here’s what last year’s riders had to say about the Ride of Passage.
Now’s your shot
We’re running this ride only once in 2024, and it may never run again. We are only accepting 8 riders. Will you be one of them?

Part of the Ride of Passage experience is to release your need to know. While we provide you with a detailed itinerary prior to the trip, we encourage you not to look at it unless you’re lost. That way every day is a mystery waiting to be discovered, with no unconscious expectations limiting your experience.
What we can say: You’ll have at least a day to adjust to Thailand and the timechange before we begin the ride. Expect to ride 2-4 hours per day, with stops every hour or so for coffee, meals, sights and experiences.
Our first event will be dinner together at 6pm on November 4th, and our last event will be dinner together at 6pm on November 12th. Your hotel room on the 12th is included.
I still have Questions…
No worries - let’s get them answered.
-
No other motorcycle tour shows you the unique sites you will see on the Ride of Passage, because no other motorcycle tour is made for Bitcoiners. We will see and experience places, people and activities that appeal to the freedom-minded and you will get to see them in a way that isn’t watered down for the average visitor to Thailand. Additionally, the Ride of Passage is designed as a transformation on two wheels, not just a motorcycle tour - that means we have surprises and events planned for you that no other motorcycle tour operator even considers.

This isn't our first rodeo. Our team has planned and executed countless multi-day trips and group rides across Thailand, including riding the country from north to south. We work with Tourism Authority of Thailand licensed companies and guides. We use the Cornerman System to keep everyone together, and will equip you with a Cardo helmet communicator so you’ll always be in contact with the group.
Most recently, Evan planned and executed the three month Bitcoin Tour across the USA, which was sponsored by Swan Bitcoin, Unchained Capital, Bitcoin Magazine, and Upstream Data. Swan even produced a three part miniseries about the tour – here’s part 1.
Our team brings to this ride that experience in the USA and a deep knowledge of the land, language, and culture of Thailand. That means you’ll be able to go deeper into this world than you could by yourself, and deeper than any other guide or tour can take you. Our team can bridge the culture gap for you.
We also understand you’re not here for a vacation; you’re here for an adventure. We want to take you on it.

If I showed you the itinerary, it would be half as fun. If I tell you exactly where we’re going to go and what we’re going to do, your mind will create expectations (unconsciously!) of what that will be. You will carry those expectations into the experience, and that will limit your ability to absorb everything about that experience. I want you to come here as open as possible, not clouded by expectations, so that the journey is as exciting, inspiring and transformational as possible.
I know that knowing more about what you are seeing and doing can enrich the experience — but that can occur while you’re in the experience. That’s why I will be there with you on the ride; ask me anything while we’re there, and I’m happy to share my knowledge.
Let this journey be revealed as we ride the road ahead. I will share the itinerary each day with riders just for ease of travel, but I want each day’s experiences to be a joyful surprise.

Like all good things, getting to Thailand from the West takes time! For Europe and East Coast USA, look at Middle Eastern carriers like Emirates and Qatar. They usually have short layovers and can get you to Bangkok with just one stop. From there it’s a one hour, ~$50 flight to Chiang Mai. From the Midwest and West Coast you can usually get to Chiang Mai with one stop in Singapore or Taipei.
I’m happy to help you think through flights — just DM me on Twitter or Telegram (links in footer of page).

I’ve done countless tours in Northern Thailand, and found the ideal bike for most riders is the Honda CB500X. Its 500cc parallel twin has plenty of passing power yet allows the bike to stay light and nimble for the tight curves we’ll tackle. The wide seat and tall suspension make it comfortable on both the highway and beat up old roads.
If you’d rather ride an automatic, you have the option of a 300cc scooter as well - just let me know.
-
I know two weeks away is not an easy sell when you have a family to care for.
But just as this trip can be transformational for you, it can also be a rite of passage for your family. Take your absence as an opportunity to involve your extended family or close friends in caring for your children while you’re gone. Build that support network in order to increase your own freedom.
You could also bring your family out to Thailand to relax while you’re on the road. Contrary to popular belief, Thailand is very safe and family friendly. It’s also incredibly affordable for a family vacation, with posh hotels and resorts accessible at under $100/night. I will even help you build an itinerary for your family if they do decide to come out with you.
-
I’m willing to bet you’d like to never have to ask this question again. That is freedom.
I found that freedom for myself now, but I didn’t find my path until I got out of my comfort zone and met people who could show the way. Moving to Thailand and meeting many of the people I will introduce you to on this trip set me on that path.
Take two weeks off now and let the relationships you build on this trip be the beginning of escape from the rat race.
If you work at a Bitcoin company: Instead of sending you to a dull conference in an overpriced American city to shake a few hands, take this ride and make several lifelong connections within the human Bitcoin network.
-
For your comfort, I recommend you bring your own motorcycle gear: including helmet, gloves, jacket, pants, and boots. Large suitcases can be stored while we’re out on the ride. Your motorcycle rental does include a full-face helmet and riding jacket, sizes subject to availability.
Beyond that: thick jeans, a leather or thick canvas jacket, and good hiking boots with ankle support would be comfortable for riding. The climate here in the winter is temperate: low humidity with temperatures around 75 F in the day and down to around 60 F at night. With the wind you will get chilly quick in just a t-shirt.
I will include all of this and more on a Packing Guide for you as well.
-
The Thai cell networks are faster and less spotty than what you’re likely used to in your country, while costing a fraction. The travel guide I write for you will include how to get set up with a local SIM card (or eSIM) for 4G or 5G connection throughout the ride. Stay in touch with family, send pictures back home, or even check in at work.
You’ll be connected before you even leave the airport after your arrival in Thailand. Plenty of data and minutes for the whole trip will cost you around $20.
-
Americans get a 30-day visa on arrival that’s simply stamped at immigration when you arrive in Thailand. If the immigration officer asks why you’re visiting Thailand, just tell them you are here for tourism to see Chiang Mai.
Most western countries should similarly get a 30-day visa on arrival, but you should check for your own country just to be sure. Here’s a list of visa exempt countries (may be out of date). If you’re unsure about your country, just shoot me a message on Twitter and Telegram - you can find my profiles in the footer of this site.
There are also no COVID restrictions last I checked - but as you know, these can and do change with no notice, so please check for your own situation!
-
This rarely happens, especially if you know what to look for (and I do). Good Thai food is fresh, straight from the fields — you just have to know how to spot and avoid the touristy places.
However, if you do get sick, as with most problems in Thailand you can solve it in 15 minutes. I will carry the right medications to heal you quickly. Trust me, I’ve dealt with this before!
Food allergies are a legitimate concern here, since Thais don’t commonly have any allergies. I cannot guarantee any food is peanut free, for example. However, we can work around food allergies. Please mention this when we talk!
-
Rest assured I have a plan for this. I will always have the phone number for the closest hospital in mind and I will share these with every rider, should they be needed.
Cars usually max out on Thai roads at around 60 miles an hour, and my experience has been that drivers are more aware of motorcyclists than in the USA.
If for any reason you need to leave the ride before we’re back in Chiang Mai, I can arrange for a car to take you back and straight to the airport.
-
You must get travel insurance which covers repatriation to your country in order to ride. You can get this through your health insurance provider or a global provider like SafetyWing or WorldNomads. Be sure the policy covers motorcycles and traveling to Thailand. Nobody else on this ride including operators can take any responsibility for injuries or extra costs you incur while on this journey. All participants will need to sign a liability waiver as well.
-
You need a valid motorcycle license and an international driver’s permit (IDP) with motorcycle endorsement for this trip. With a motorcycle license in the USA, you can get the IDP at any AAA location for $20 - here’s more info.
-
Given the need to book accommodation and your motorcycle in advance, you’ll need to put down a non-refundable deposit in Bitcoin. The remaining balance will be due by a later date specified on your deposit receipt. If the trip does not meet the minimum riders to run, all deposits will be refunded (in US dollar terms).

As I shook the hands of hundreds of Bitcoiners across the USA in 2022, I learned that we have more in common than an interest in Bitcoin. We are interested in sovereignty in general: in money, in career, in food, in education, in mindset and more.
The Ride of Passage is pointed at sovereignty; we will meet expats who moved to Thailand to build passive income empires, and we will meet communities in the mountains who never forgot how to live a completely sovereign lifestyle. Every exploration on this journey is pointed straight at the aim of achieving freedom and sovereignty in mind, body and spirit.
If that isn’t Bitcoin, I don’t know what is.

First, know that you’re not alone. If I had a sat for every time I met someone who came here for a month and stayed for 10 years, I’d be living in my citadel already. Personally, spending the last four years in Thailand brought me a sense of calm, ease, and joy that I cannot describe to you. You must come out and experience it for yourself.
Should your journey to Thailand spark a desire to spend more time here, I’m happy to help you navigate this wild and wonderful land, from visas to living arrangements and integration in to the culture.
But first you need to see it with your own eyes on this Ride of Passage.
See what we did
